This quilt began with the idea of doing a leader/ender project to use up some of my scraps. I had wanted to do a lender/ender project for some time, but I could never decide on a design. Sara at Confessions of a Fabric Addict started a Sweet 16 Quilt Along, which inspired me to come up with the design for this quilt. But since I had more scraps and more ideas than I needed for one quilt, I designed the back to work with the front and create a double sided quilt in contrasting colorways. The front is red and a touch of black on white, but the back of the quilt is grey with blues and purple. I quilted it to death, my favorite approach, and gifted it to the wonderful family who hosted my son during his year of community service in Japan. It was rather hard to give away, but as you can see below, it has found a great home.
