When you live in a foreign country, there is just no way to replace that feeling of being home… even though there is somewhat of a disconnect because you might have been away from that place for so long. It’s sometimes difficult to process the changes that happen to you, others, and those familiar spots. From one expat to another, I know how precious that time will be – enjoy!

Thanks, Allison. I do feel that when you have been away, particularly for a long time, you see everything with new eyes – sometimes with newfound appreciation and sometimes with bafflement as to how you could have ever found whatever it is normal!
