Art for Kids

I came across this temporary art and play structure for kids at the IFC Mall in Hong Kong the other day.  Thought you all might enjoy it!  It makes me think of entering a Dr. Seuss world.

There’s a kid up there!

A bit of an update:  The structure was made by Toshiko Horiuchi McAdam.  It took 800 kg of nylon braid and over 10 months of HAND CROCHETING (!!!) to create the structure.  Thanks, Joanna, for asking about how it was made!

  1. It looks like a Chihuli made out of fiber instead of glass. What fun for the kids!

  2. Very Seussian. Is it crocheted?
