My mom has been the recipient of many of the quilts I have given away, and she has kindly displayed them in her home. I made two of these kimono quilts back in 2006 (I labeled it!), one for my mom and one for a friend of hers, as a symbol of the friendship between them. It was one of the sources of some of the scraps in my placemats and the backing of Circles, Revisited. Over eight years and I still have scraps left!
Linking up to Free Motion Mavricks, since it does have quite a bit of free motion on it!
Definitely one of the most unique I have seen, my favorite so far! What a meaningful gift from the heart ❤

All your work is beautiful, this one really jumped off the page at me. I love ‘picture’ quilts.

I like to pull out scraps left from quilts made long ago and give them another go. I have some scrap quilts I could never part with as they contain my quilt history.

I had not thought of them as a record of my quilting history, but that is a great way to think about it.

A gorgeous quilt, and really lovely quilting. It is interesting to see how the quilting has carried the picture through to the back. As for scraps… I really enjoy seeing how some fabrics seem to go on for ever.
Thank you for linking up with Free Motion Mavericks!

Thank you, Muv. It would be interesting to show a picture series with the quilts a particular fabric was part of. I may have to try that sometime!
